Weems is entering her third season as commissioner. Immediately prior to her time as NCHC commissioner, she was the Director of Athletics at St. Cloud State (a NCHC member school), and had stints at the University of Denver (also a NCHC member school) and Drake University.
Weems discusses the state of the NCHC, challenges facing NCAA men’s ice hockey in today’s athletic environment, the student-athlete experience, the conference’s online streaming service (NCHC.tv), getting more media coverage for the sport, ways to attract more female fans to NCHC games, and a “day in the life” of a hockey conference commissioner.
