The Mavs wrapped up 2018 with the first sweep of the season, with goaltender Evan Weninger blanking Alaska Anchorage in both non-conference games. The Mavs beat the Seawolves 3-0 on Saturday night and completed the sweep with a 4-0 victory on New Year's Eve in a noon game.
For his efforts, Weninger was named the NCHC Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season:
The series was the first consecutive shutouts for UNO Hockey since 2002. With the Monday win, Weninger also tied #oldbull Dan Ellis with seven career shutouts.
In addition, Ryan Galt's goal made the NCHC's Top 5 Plays of the Week (with Play #5) for Week 11:

Looking Ahead to This Weekend:
The Mavs go on the road to Denver University this weekend as they resume conference play. The Pioneers are currently in fourth place in the NCHC and are coming off a sweep at Wisconsin. DU has won the past 12 contests against the Mavs, and UNO has not scored in the last three games versus the Pioneers.
