Omaha mounted a strong comeback (down 3‑1, then tied 4‑4) only to lose in the final minute. UMass showed resilience on the road and found a way to win a tight one.

  • Key moment: With 58.2 seconds left, UMass’s junior forward Jack Musa scored the game‑winner to lift his team to the 5‑4 victory.

    • For Omaha: Freshman forward Luke Woodworth opened scoring early. Goaltender Šimon Latkoczy made 31 saves. 

    • For UMass: Musa’s clutch goal; the team out‑shot Omaha 36–33 and converted 1‑of‑2 on the power play.

Omaha 5, UMass 2

Omaha bounced back after a heart‑breaker the night before, showing poise and strong start. UMass, despite being ranked (#13) and favored, allowed too many early chances, undermining their road performance.

    • Omaha struck early with two first‑period goals (including one on a 5‑on‑3 power play).
